![]() It's not the fault of any of the instructors, of course - when things were in-person, there was no question of how to do things, and now there's (I'm assuming) not very much top-down direction from the uni/department heads, so everyone is branching out and out and out. It makes for a new website/app per course, just about. ![]() The only thing is that these days every new website to keep track of is added to a growing pile, since now other depts' profs are also figuring out their preferred way to do stuff. There is a limit of 100 MB for uploaded files. The class is run through an online blackboard system. I have tried a couple of different methods of uploading lectures, but I havent found one that I like. Ha, it had to be CS! All the courses I took there (before, er, switching out of CS) had their own websites, for better or for worse, and Maths also seems a lot more keen than my other dept on using free/inhouse-developed third-party stuff like Crowdmark and Piazza. I am teaching a class online that would really benefit from having recorded lectures along with powerpoint slides. I think a lot less people would be keen on downloading the lectures if BB followed Zoom and let us change playback speed. Thanks for the BB info, that's good to know. We can see how long you spent on a session, how many views, etc I can tell you that there are reports, and that I (as an instructor) have an option to let people download a recording. as for screenshots, I couldnt figure out how to make the infernal software actually record and post a session. I do that too! I need to make sure my students are doing well - academically, personally, and mentally. Quercus/Blackboard-relying profs have been putting out feedback surveys and that, asking how they're doing, what's been done well/poorly, what's been stressful or confusing Plus I still have scars and hatred in my heart for blackboard from my own undergrad. I am a CS instructor, but Software Developer by day. Ouch, I'm in this picture and I don't like it. I'm not in CS (it's CS that favours homegrown sites, in my experience) It's so hard to gauge and properly teach without the human body language! For anything synchronous I'm talking to names on a screen. ![]() Without seeing a lecture hall sitting in collective confusion in front of you. ![]()
